Η Μαρία Νικητοπούλου γεννήθηκε στην Θεσσαλονίκη το 1986. Είναι απόφοιτος του Τμήμα Εικαστικών και Εφαρμοσμένων Τεχνών της Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών του Α.Π.Θ., του 1oυ Eργαστηρίου Zωγραφικής με καθηγητή τον Δημήτρη Ζουρούδη. Επίσης είναι πτυχιούχος του Δημοκριτείου Πανεπιστημίου Θράκης, τμήμα Ιστορίας και Εθνολογίας. Ως ιδεολογική αφετηρία τα έργα της υπόκεινται σε μια αναλυτική γραμμή σκέψης εθνολογικού περιεχομένου, σχετικά με την ύπαρξη των μύθων και τη σημασία αυτών, μέσα σε ένα ευρύτερο κοινωνικο-πολιτισμικό πλαίσιο. Στις παρελθοντικές σπουδές της ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον παρουσίαζαν για την ίδια η μελέτη της ανθρωπολογικής σκέψης και ο πολιτισμός.

Maria Nikitopoulou was born in Thessaloniki in 1986.She is a graduate of the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts in Thessaloniki, studied on the 1st Painting Workshop under professor Dimitris Zouroudis. She also graduated from Democritus University of Thrace, at the Department of History and Ethnology.As an ideological starting point, her works are subject to an analytical line of thought of an ethnological content, regarding the existence of myths and their importance, within a wider socio-cultural context.
